“This young man came up to me with a gun in my face, and in that very instant, I knew I wanted to do something about it,” Warren told NBC affiliate WXIA. “I wasn’t going to let him try to take my stuff from me.””They were just as scared as I was. When I looked at that little boy’s eyes he was just as scared as me,” she added. “Honestly he was fumbling. “As many times as he kept saying that he was going to do it, he didn’t do it. He wouldn’t do it,” Warren said. “So I don’t know if the gun was loaded, you know you never really know.”

But even despite her experience, Warren has a message for the carjackers: “I forgive them.”

“You’re wrong for trying to rob from me,” she said. “It’s not the end of the world for you. It doesn’t mean that you can’t change and make changes in your life.” she said.

“It’s up to you and I’m willing to help you make those changes,” she added. “It doesn’t make you a bad person. You’ve done something bad but you can always be forgiven for it.”
