On Monday afternoon, a reporter was arrested after he allegedly defecated on the lawn of a subject in a story that he was covering.
Jonathan Lowe, a 33-year-old reporter for KPHO in Phoenix, Arizona, was seen by a neighbor as he picked up papers from the street before leaning against the wall of a house and relieving himself.
When an officer came to arrest him for public defecation, Lowe allegedly admitted to what he had done, telling the officer:
I know what you want to talk to me about. I’ve been feeling very sick and I’ve been stuck in this van all day. Those people who called on me just wanted to start problems.

The woman who called about Lowe’s public defecation said that he could have used her bathroom if he asked. Dan Wilson, KPHO’s News Director, emailed employees earlier this week notifying them that Lowe no longer worked at the station.

Lowe faces a fine up to up to $2,500 or six months in jail.
Lowe’s last report for KPHO was on the case of Patrick Zane Thompson. The article covering Thompson’s story described how Thompson was accused of “sacrificing” the family poodle in a barbecue smoker after he allegedly became upset about his daughter’s shirt.
