Love Jones is reportedly getting a musical remake.

The 1997 classic starring Larenz Tate and Nia Long will turn 20 in 2017. While fans have been long awaiting a sequel, this musical is sure to tide them over. The musical will be directed by Theodore Witcher, who wrote the original film.

Rapper MC Lyte took to Instagram to make the announcement, making sure that we were all aware that the epic black love story from the 90s was not only getting a remake but that she would be starring in it alongside Marsha Ambrosius, Raheem DeVaughn, Musiq Soulchild, Chrisette Michele and Dave Hollister. The musical is set to begin in the fall.
