Peter Thiel, co-founder of Paypal, is the only prominent supporter of Donald Trump in the tech industry, and according to a source close to him, he will be donating $1.25 million to Trump’s campaign.
Under condition of anonymity, a source said on Saturday that Thiel felt that Trump was the best choice for the country and that America needed to be fixed.
The decision to support Trump comes even as the Republican candidate’s campaign is struggling to stay afloat since the release of a 2005 “Access Hollywood” tape revealing Trump making lewd comments about women.
A spokesman for Thiel declined to comment, and Trump’s campaign has not yet commented either.
