It was a Beyoncé takeover at the 2016 Country Music Awards as the singer wowed audiences with a special performance with the Dixie Chicks.
The singer, adorned in a white sheer gown, joined the girl band to perform her song “Daddy Lessons,” which is a nod to country music and her hometown of Houston, Texas. Beyoncé also sang a bit of the Dixie Chick’s song “Long Time Gone.”
–Beyonceé’s Formation tour sells over 2 million tickets, banks over $250 million–
As one can imagine, the Internet expressed their total adoration. But not everyone seemed happy about Beyoncé’s crossover to country music, as some country fans slammed news of the singer hitting the stage. Thankfully, most agreed Beyoncé killed it.

Beyoncé performed an uptempo song with no dancers & no choreography and still gave us a great performance. Michael Jackson could never.

I’m late but this Beyoncé and Dixie Chicks performance is so dope. A true blend of worlds and cultures that makes America great.
