Jewell Jones made history last year when, at 20 years old, he was the the youngest person to ever sit on the city council of Inkster, Michigan. Now, at 21, he is the youngest state representative for Michigan.
The University of Michigan-Dearborn student beat his opponent with 66 percent of the vote despite his age and the fact that he is still a full-time student double majoring in political science and finance.
Following his victory, Jones took to Instagram to congratulate his supporters: “You and I made history, once again. I’m looking forward to serving you all in a greater capacity.”
