A Woodside High School student in California is claiming that her social media post in support of Donald Trump got her beaten up.
A female student was captured on camera attacking Jade Armenio for her support of Trump. “This girl comes up to me and she said, ‘Do you hate Mexicans?’ and I was like, ‘no,’ and she said, ‘You support Trump. You hate Mexicans,'” said Armenio.
The girl then allegedly threw Armenio to the ground and pulled out her earrings and hair, leaving her with scratches and bruises as well as a bloody nose.
Armenio said that the trouble stemmed from a post she made on social media expressing hope that Trump would win before the results came in on Election Day. She said that so many other students were posting about the election, but her post got her in trouble: “I don’t think I could name one person on any of my accounts who didn’t say their opinion last night.”
Her parents are horrified by the attack, with her mother, Gina Armenio, saying, “My husband and I don’t put our political views on social media. Kids still do it. That’s their life. We tell them don’t do it, but even if she does she should never be hit like that.”
