An Arkansas man has been arrested and charged in the road rage shooting death of 3-year-old Acen King, after five days of being on the run.

Officials confirmed that Greg Holmes, 33, turned himself into authorities in Little Rock Thursday after his parents worked with U.S. Marshals to ensure his peaceful surrender.

Holmes was charged with two counts of making a terroristic act and one count of capital murder.

The shooting took place nearly a week ago after Holmes reportedly honked his horn at Kim King-Macon, the victim’s grandmother, because she was not moving fast enough while sitting at a stop sign. When King-Macon honked back, things quickly escalated as Holmes pulled out his firearm and shot at the vehicle.

The frantic grandmother drove off and did not stop until she arrived at a JCPenny parking lot. It was then she discovered that her 3-year-old grandson had been shot while sitting in the backseat. Another child who was also in the car at the time was left unarmed.

Holmes could face the death penalty in the boy’s death.
