The Yahoo Finance Twitter’s copy editor must have been asleep on the job to let this one go.
On Thursday, the finance site meant to tweet about President-elect Donald Trump’s plans for the military, but an accidental substitution of ‘n’ for ‘b’ meant they instead tweeted out this caption for their article: “Trump wants a much n—-r navy: Here’s how much it’ll cost.”
The tweet stayed live for twenty minutes before someone realized the mistake and took it down.
“We deleted an earlier tweet due to a spelling error,” the site said in an apology after the tweet was taken down. “We apologize for the mistake.”
