WikiLeaks calls out Trump for not releasing tax returns

During the 2016 presidential campaign, WikiLeaks was accused of being pro-Trump, especially because of their hack of Clinton emails and DNC emails. But their latest comments show that no one is safe from their quest for whistleblowers.

After Kellyanne Conway said on ABC’s This Week that President Donald Trump had no intentions of releasing his tax returns, despite campaign promises to release them after the election.

WikiLeaks then took to Twitter to drag the announcement, saying, “Trump Counselor Kellyanne Conway stated today that Trump will not release his tax returns. Send them to: https://wikileaks.org/#submit  so we can.”

“Trump’s breach of promise over the release of his tax returns is even more gratuitous than Clinton concealing her Goldman Sachs transcripts,” they added.

This is not the first time that WikiLeaks has taken on Trump’s tax returns. Last summer, Julian Assange told Bill Maher they were “working on” the tax returns, though WikiLeaks later asserted that it was just a joke and they were not actively trying to hack tax returns, just asking for anyone who had access to “leak” them.

“WikiLeaks isn’t ‘working on’ hacking Trump’s tax-returns. Claim is a joke from a comedy show. We are ‘working on’ encouraging whistleblowers,” they tweeted at the time.
