Twitter reminds critics Tom Brady skipped Obama White House visit
The Twitterverse pointed out that Patriots' own Tom Brady refused to visit the White House when Barack Obama was president.
Supporters of President Donald Trump are in an uproar over the Patriots’ Martellus Bennett and Devin McCourty recent announcement that he would not be going to the White House for the traditional post-Super Bowl celebration.
But as the Twitterverse pointed out, the Patriots’ own Tom Brady did the exact same thing a couple years ago, only this time, the president he refused to visit was Barack Obama.
Where, Twitter wants to know, were the people upset at the insult of not going to the White House when it was our previous president instead of the current one?
When Bennett said on Monday that his decision not to go to the White House hadn’t changed, he drew down massive criticism, but he also garnered serious support among Twitter users who supported him for taking a stand.
Eventually, Bennet’s teammate Devin McCourty said he, too, would skip the Patriots’ visit to the White House.
