Spike Lee thinks it’s ‘fishy’ that Colin Kaepernick remains a free agent

Last season, Colin Kaepernick, of the San Francisco 49ers, sparked national controversy when he refused to stand for the national anthem. Even now, he is continuing his activism and outspokenness, and yet he remains a free agent and unsigned after he opted out of his 49ers contract during the off season.

Spike Lee, also known for his activism, called this out on Instagram, turning to his New York Jets to address the situation.

“How Is It That There Are 32 NFL Teams And Kap Is Still A Free Agent? WTF. Smells MAD Fishy To Me, Stinks To The High Heavens,” he wrote.

However, it’s unlikely to happen, since Jets owner Woody Johnson is a huge supporter of Donald Trump and has made comments suggesting that Colin Kaepernick is the reason behind lower 2016 NFL ratings.
