Carmelo, La La Anthony’s prenup leaves hundreds of millions at stake

Carmelo and La La Anthony are reportedly breaking off their marriage, and depending on how a prenup agreement is read, there could be millions of dollars on the table for their split.

The question comes because of a dancer at a New York City gentleman’s club who claims that Carmelo is the father of her unborn child. TMZ reported that she is asking for child support for medical expenses as well as other costs associated with raising a child.

Because of the way the prenup is written, though, La La has room to argue that she deserves more of Carmelo’s money if the allegations are true and he did cheat.

That would be a significant sum for her, too, since he has a $124 million contract with the New York Knicks as well as other endorsement deals that have put him on Forbes’ list of richest athletes at No. 25 back in 2016, with a net worth of around $200 million.

The couple reportedly announced on Monday that they were calling it quits, and La La was seen out and about on Tuesday without her wedding ring.

“They have been fighting for about a year,” a source close to the couple told the New York Daily News. “The marriage has always been a rocky one, so this is no surprise.”

The couple married in July, 2010, and have one son together, Kiyan.
