Baltimore attorney arrested after telling rape victim Trump would deport her

On Tuesday, a defense attorney was arrested for obstruction of justice and witness intimidation after allegedly offering a rape victim $3,000 not to testify and threatening her with deportation if she chose to move forward.

The man in question, Christos Vasiliades, along with Edgar Ivan Rodriguez, told the victim’s husband in a conversation that was caught on recording that the “current environment for immigrants in this country” was not good, going on to offer $3,000 to get the victim not to testify against his client.

“You know how things are with Trump’s laws now; someone goes to court, and boom, they get taken away,” Rodriguez said, according to the Attorney General’s Office.

Additionally, Vasilades suggested that rather than proceeding with the trial, the victim and her husband could simply beat up his client.

“If we were back home where I’m from, from Greece… we would go (expletive) him up, that’s it, if you want to do that, that’s fine,” Vasiliades said, according to court documents. “He’s an (expletive), I think you should find him and kick his (expletive), personally.”

Vasiliades was arrested on Tuesday morning just before the trial of Mario Aguilar-Delosantos was set to begin.
