Regina King and Dana Dane are teaming up to make a movie adaptation of Dane’s 1987 hit “Cinderfella.”

“Cinderfella,” which set the Cinderella story in the hood and featured a young man reaching out to his fairy godfather, Hurb, and getting a pair of new Ballys instead of glass slippers, was one of Dane’s biggest hits, and considering King’s record with Cinderella remakes like The Cinderella Story, a box office hit, these two seem like the perfect team-up for the project.

According to TMZ, the script is reportedly already finished, and the two of them are just looking for actors, with Ice Cube reportedly one of the names being shopped around.
