The stakes are as high as ever in Season 5 of ‘Orange is the New Black’

Season 5 of ‘Orange is the New Black’ is taking the drama to new levels.

Our favorite prison dramedy starts off right where the last season ended– with one of the inmates pointing a gun at a correctional officer’s head. The inmates at Litchfield are in the midst of a prison takeover that reveals even more about each inmate as well as the cracks in the prison system.

‘Orange’ actresses Adrienne C. Moore and Danielle Brooks chatted with Entertainment Studios’ Jon Kelley about the highs and lows of the show’s action-packed fifth season.

“It’s literally like a pressure cooker,” Moore said. “The kernels are really heating up and all of the sudden, in a few minutes, everything just goes like this. It’s finally starting to erupt.”

But, as usual, this season of Orange is the New Black is not without its tender, heartfelt moments.

“These are people who can also be heroes, too,” Brooks adds. “Or she-roes. They can be greater than their circumstances.”
