Rachel Lindsay breaks down over pressures of being first Black ‘Bachelorette’

On Monday night’s episode of The Bachelorette, Rachel Lindsay broke down crying over the pressures that she is facing.

There has been plenty of infighting between the guys on the show, but that isn’t the only thing that has Lindsay upset, as she explained during the episode. Specifically, she said that she was sure the black community was going to come for her over some of her rose choices, especially since she is the first ever black ‘Bachelorette.’

“The pressures that I feel about being a black woman and what that is and how … I don’t want to talk about it,” an emotional Lindsay said before starting to break down in tears.

“I get pressure from so many different ways being in this position,” she said. “And I don’t… I did not want to get into all of this tonight, and I already know what people are going to say about me and judge me for the decisions that I’m making.”

She continued, “I’m going to be the one who has to deal with that, and nobody else. And that’s a lot.”

“You have no idea what it’s like to be in this position,” she said.
