Tamron Hall is coming back to daytime television, with a daytime talk show announced on Wednesday for Weinstein Television.
“I’ve been working towards developing a talk show for a long time, but needed to make sure I did it the right way and with the right person to take the lead. Tamron is far and away that person,” Harvey Weinstein, TWC co-chairman, said in a statement. “She’s an exceptionally talented journalist whose interviews masterfully walk the line between entertainment and hard hitting. We couldn’t be more thrilled to begin this new venture with her.”

This news comes six months after Hall’s departure from the Today show as Megyn Kelly joined the NBC News team. As was rumored at the time, Kelly is now set to take over the third hour, which was once Hall’s time slot, with her own program, prompting backlash against NBC and accusations of whitewashing.
This will be Weinstein Television’s first foray into daytime television, and while Hall is set to co-create and executive-produce, a network is not yet attached to the project. NBC Domestic Television Distribution president Barry Wallach is working with the project as a consultant.
