Teens mock, laugh at disabled man as he drowns to death

In what police are calling an “extremely disturbing,” video, teenagers laughed and mocked a disabled Florida man as he was drowning in a pond and recorded his final moments rather than help him.

“Get out the water, you gonna die,” one of the teens called out to 32-year-old Jamel Dunn, who was screaming for help.

“Ain’t nobody fixing to help you, you dumb (expletive),”  shouted another.

Dunn’s head then disappeared under the water, prompting one teen to say, “Oh, he just died,” according to Florida Today.

“He started to struggle and scream for help and they just laughed. They didn’t call the police,” Cocoa Police Department spokeswoman Yvonne Martinez told the newspaper, adding, “They just laughed the whole time. He was just screaming for someone to help him.”

Dunn’s body was found, badly decomposing, last Friday, and the video was uncovered when one of Dunn’s friends saw it on social media and showed it to the police.

Police identified the teens involved and questioned them, and according to authorities, they showed no remorse for their actions. What’s more, the Brevard County State Attorney’s Office said in a statement that it is unlikely the teens will face any charges because there is not enough evidence that they were involved in the drowning.
