ESPN’s Jemele Hill came under fire recently for a tweet in which she called President Donald Trump a white supremacist.
While her tweets were mostly about country star Kid Rock and his run for the Senate, Hill also fired at Trump, saying, “Donald Trump is a white supremacist who has largely surrounded himself w/ other white supremacists.”

While the likes of Colin Kapernick, who tweeted, “We are with you @jemelehill,“ in response to Hill’s statement, have shown support for Hill’s sentiment, ESPN itself has distanced itself from the tweet.
We are with you @jemelehill ✊?

“The comments on Twitter from Jemele Hill regarding the President do not represent the position of ESPN,” the network said. “We have addressed this with Jemele and she recognizes her actions were inappropriate.”
There is not yet any word on if or how Hill will be reprimanded by ESPN, though the network has historically reprimanded those that speak out on their political opinion.
