Tracee Ellis Ross’ takes us into her home with Vogue’s ’73 Questions’

Fresh off of an Emmy nomination for her role in Black-ish, Tracee Ellis Ross met with Vogue for a round of 73 questions in which she showed off her pure exuberance for life.

Even though she didn’t end up taking home the Emmy, on a scale of 1 to 10 of how happy she is with her life, Ross said, “Oh. I’m like a 10 or 11 right now.”

Ross said that her continued love of life was down to the way she treated herself and her body. For example, she shies away from stimulants like coffee, sugar, and chocolate, and she always meditates. She also wakes up to the sound of string instruments, and she loves to read.

–Tracee Ellis Ross almost passed on ‘Black-ish’ because she thought Anthony Anderson was ‘a**hole’–

“If you’re not a reader, you need to read,” she said. Ross herself reads Ta-Nehisi Coates’s Between the World and Me, Rebecca Traister’s All the Single Ladies, and Donna Tartt’s The Secret History.

She also spoke on the importance of her family. Her younger brother, Evan, and his wife, Ashlee Simpson, were present for the interview as well.

In addition to speaking about the joys in life, Ross expounded on everything from her favorite curse word and her favorite salts to what superpower she would love to have (the power to impeach).
