Mother says fried chicken was thrown at her while in traffic
It seems racists have found a new way to harass black people, throw fired chicken at them while they are sitting in traffic. That is exactly what happened to a black woman when a piece of fried chicken was thrown into her car window.
Alexis Newsome thinks she was targeted because she is black and posted about what happened on Facebook so that others could try to understand how it feels to have something like this directed at them.
“I don’t want to have to explain this to my five-year-old this is not fair,” she stated. “I was scared. I almost crashed into the car next to me. … I want people to understand what this feels like what it’s like It’s not easy living in this brown skin.”

Newsome says the person who threw the chicken at her was in a red truck. The piece of chicken almost his her in the face. She originally thought it was an eggshell and was so shocked that she didn’t get a better look at the truck.
“It’s almost something I cannot put into words about how I feel as a mom and a woman of color. I want people to have those conversations with people that if they hear a joke, it’s not funny. We are not doing that, we are not going to speak like that. I want people to combat all those types of hate,” said Newsome.
