Marshawn Lynch’s “Everybody vs. Trump” T-shirt sparks outrage

Before Oakland Raiders running back Marshawn Lynch had even stepped out onto the field for Sunday’s game against the Denver Broncos, he was turning heads with a political tee shirt.

A picture posted by an NFL insider for ESPN, Adam Schefter, showed Lynch wearing a tee shirt that read “Everybody vs. Trump,” sparking backlash online as well as statements of support.

Lynch, who was one of the first players to sit out the national anthem, has never spoken out on why he was doing so, but it looks like his wardrobe is saying plenty.

This weekend was the second weekend filled with protests after President Donald Trump stirred up controversy during a rally in which he claimed that any NFL players protesting during the national anthem should be fired and that anyone who participated in that kind of protest was a “son of a b****.” NFL players and personnel alike responded by protesting in solidarity, linking arms during the national anthem or kneeling together.

What’s more, The Democratic Coalition this weekend filed an ethics complaint over the weekend. They also filed a complaint with the Department of Justice questioning whether the president violated federal law in calling for the protesting players to be fired.
