Reporter Cam Newton insulted apologizes for her racist tweets

Jourdan Rodrigue, the reporter that Cam Newton insulted during a press conference on Wednesday has apologized for racist tweets she posted a few years ago.

Rodrigue, who covers the Carolina Panthers for the Charlotte Observer, had asked Newton, “I know you take a lot of pride in seeing your receivers play well. Devin Funchess has seemed to really embrace the physicality of his routes and getting those extra yards. Does that give you a little bit of enjoyment to see him truck-sticking people?”

His response? “It’s funny to hear a female talk about routes like that,” he said. “It’s funny.”

His comments were so offensive that he lost his spokesman gig with Dannon yogurt.

Gatorade was also disappointed in his comments saying they” were objectionable and disrespectful to all women and they do not reflect the values of our brand.”

The incident drew attention to Rodrigue however and what people found on her Twitter feed was not good.

In one tweet racist jokes are referenced as though they are a good thing while someone else posts about her dad being “super racist as we pass through Navajo land.”

In yet another post she talks about Dale Earnhardt and uses the word “n***er.” She has since apologized for her tweets.
