Nicki Minaj has taken to social media to clear up some controversy surrounding her latest release with Migos.
When the song “Motorsport,” featuring Minaj and Cardi B dropped last week, rumors started swirling that Nicki wasn’t a fan of Cardi’s involvement. Folks speculated that Cardi won the slot from her fiancée, Offset, without approval from Nicki.
Now, the Harajuku Barbie is speaking out and denying there’s any tension between her and the rising star.
“I was on the song w/Quavo. No one else was on it. He called & asked if I think we should put Bardi on it, I said “ok let’s do it.” The end,” she posted. “Migos weren’t even on it yet. Just Quavo. The conspiracy theories r just so tired. Relax. Breathe. Imagine me not knowing who on a song w/me.”
–Opinion: Let’s end the double standard of condemning female hip-hop beefs–
Minaj explained that she’s in control of her career and is always aware of every detail of the music she releases or is featured on.
“Anything w/my name on it gets approved by me. It can’t even go on a streaming service w/o me hearing it & giving written approval,” she continued.
“These are men in our culture who simply refuse to let it go. They don’t do this to male M.C.’s But yo #Motorsport #1 added on urban radio.”

It seems some fans are constantly craving conflict in hip-hop, particularly among women emcees.
Perhaps those people should focus on a different beef that’s brewing. According to reports, Remy Ma has teamed up with Lil Kim to deliver a scathing diss record to Ms. Minaj and were seen filming a video together in the Bronx.
We’ll have to wait and see how that one plays out.
