Terry Crews claims Russell Simmons asked him to give agent a pass in groping case

Luther Vandross was outed as gay after his death.

Russell Simmons has gotten plenty of accolades over his many years in hip-hop but he is now facing scrutiny in multiple cases of sexual misconduct.

Beyond the new sexual assault claims against him, including the alleged assault of Keri Claussen Khalighi when she was 17, Terry Crews is now speaking out against him as well.

According to Crews, Simmons asked him to give a pass to the Hollywood agent who groped him against his will in 2016.

“Message Russell Simmons sent to me regarding my sexual assault case against Adam Venit of @WME:” Crews tweeted along with a screen capture of an email from Simmons to Crews.

The message asked if the agent had apologized and suggested Crews “give the agent a pass,” before going on to say that “with great love, all things are possible.”

Crews first spoke of the incident, which happened in front of his wife, in October after the many allegations against Harvey Weinstein triggered his PTSD.

Then, in November while visiting Good Morning America, Crews publicly named Venit as the man who assaulted him. Venit was put on leave from the William Morris Endeavor agency and Crews has now filed a police report.

Simmons has not responded to the claims made by Crews but has said, “As a long-time social activist, I have applauded the strength of the brave men and women who have spoken out over the past month and made their voices heard regarding sexual assault and harassment.

“I am a supporter of the #MeToo campaign and the victims who were previously terrified to stand up and speak out against sexual misconduct.”

Since speaking out about his ordeal, Crews has been put through the wringer. Not everyone who has heard his story has been moved by it.

It has been reported that RadarOnline was going to publish a hit piece on Crews as a way of getting back at him for speaking out about Venit.

Crews has said he is now being “targeted” for something that “never happened.”

Just one day after he appeared on GMA he says RadarOnline was going to publish a story about him hiring a couple of prostitutes. He posted screengrabs of the conversation with the publication in which they requested he comment on the story.

Crews says that he will not give in to pressure and will continue to speak the truth about what happened that night. He said that while it seems that “someone is coming for him” he’s “ready to defend himself.”
