Ryan Destiny responds to Gabrielle Union’s first thought being “b—, f–k you” when they met

Luther Vandross was outed as gay after his death.

People have been calling Ryan Destiny the “next Gabrielle Union,” but Gabrielle Union wasn’t down with that when she met her.

In an excerpt from “We’re Going To Need More Wine” obtained by Bossip, Union admitted to her own “hypocrisy” when she met Destiny.

“I had heard that she looked like me,” Union wrote. “I saw her in person and she looks like I literally gave birth to her. Gab 2.0, only better.”

She said that Destiny had asked her to mentor her, but her thought was: “B****, f*** you. You want me to mentor you? The press is literally calling you the next Gabrielle Union . . . ‘except she can sing and dance!'”

Union described her own mortification of “this moment of ‘Look who’s old!'” when she met with Destiny, but when Destiny heard the story, she didn’t seem bothered by it.

“That was very weird to me, weird in a good way because I didn’t expect her to put me in her book period. I remember the time that we did meet, which is the situation she was addressing in her book and she was very nice. I wouldn’t have known that she was thinking any of the stuff that she said she was thinking in her head at all,” she said in an interview with Living Civil. “It’s interesting because she was just talking to me and we were just chopping it up about what I was filming at the time and I was just struggling mentally with stuff within the show because there is always some drama and she was just being supportive of that and she told me to push through it.”

Now, according to Destiny, the two of them actually have a solid relationship, and she even appreciates the fact that Union was willing to open up and be so vulnerable about that moment.
