Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs wants to buy the Carolina Panthers. And if he can get the team, he’d like Colin Kaepernick to be part of it.

“I would like to buy the @Panthers. Spread the word. Retweet!” Diddy wrote on Twitter.

Stephen Curry jumped at the idea, writing in response, “I want in!”

Curry grew up in Charlotte and loves the Panthers, so this would be a big deal for him.

The Panthers are looking for new ownership after founder Jerry Richardson was rocked by scandal when it was revealed that he paid at least four women off over sexual harassment, sexual misconduct, and the use of a racial slur.

Step One: Hire Colin Kaepernick

If Diddy does get the team, he already has plans to improve it. For example, he wants to hire former 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick.

If hired, it would signal quite the competition between Kaepernick and Cam Newton for the top spot.

“I will immediately address the Colin Kaepernick situation and put him in the running for next year’s starting quarterback,” Diddy said in a video posted to Instagram. “It’s just competition, baby. It’s just competition.”

Kaepernick, however, took to Twitter to make it clear he’d be more interested in ownership of the team. “I want in on the ownership group! Let’s make it happen!” he tweeted.

Step Two: Better Halftime Shows

The performer also noted that he would put more emphasis on big halftime shows to blow audiences away.

“I will have the best halftime show, the best selection of music,” Diddy said. “And we will win Super Bowl after Super Bowl.”

Step Three: Make History

On top of hiring Kaepernick and improving the halftime experience, Diddy wants to leave his mark on the history books. If he did buy the Panthers, that would make him the first majority African-American owner in the NFL.

“There are no majority African American NFL owners. Let’s make history,” Diddy wrote.

This is nothing new, either. It’s a dream that he’s had since 2013.

“I have aspirations to become — it will happen — to become the first African-American majority owner. Not having a small stake but actually owning an NFL team,” Diddy told Bloomberg at the time. “I think it’s time for that. A majority of the players in the NFL are African-American but there are no African-American owners. So that’s one of my dreams.”
