The internet has a ball dragging Trump over hilarious water break

Donald Trump’s national security speech on Monday was almost completely overshadowed by his hilarious pause to take a swig of water.

During the brief break, the president of the United States appeared to channel his inner child when he grabbed the small glass with both hands.

That’s one way not to spill, right?

Trump versus Marco Rubio

This isn’t the first time that Trump has come face to face with water as a nemesis.

During a speech about his Asia trip last month, he paused to find some water to drink. It was an awkward moment all around, as the president fumbled to find water and eventually got both hands on a bottle to drink it.

The internet went to town with him for the move then, too. After all, Trump heavily criticized Marco Rubio during the campaign for stopping mid-speech to awkwardly drink.

Famously, Trump once even took a water bottle and started throwing water around in an impression of the Republican candidate.

Now, Trump is getting a taste of his own medicine.

The internet responds

Of course, the internet couldn’t let 45 get away without a hearty drag online.

Twitter quickly blasted Trump for his water sipping skills (or lack thereof).

Some people pointed out the obvious hypocrisy in the fact that Trump had to pause in his speech to drink awkwardly when he so mercilessly blasted Rubio for the same thing.

Others simply blasted Trump for being unable to drink water without using both hands. After all, he did the same thing in his last water episode.

The water drinking method drew comparisons to everything from a small child trying not to spill to Gollum from Lord of the Rings.
