After the Philadelphia Eagles’s 41-33 Super Bowl LII victory over the New England Patriots on Sunday night, actor/comedian Kevin Hart managed to embarrass himself and Philly fans who were clearly overjoyed by their team’s win.
Hart managed to get onto the NFL Network’s on-field set. In the middle of what was supposed to be an interview with Eagles defensive lineman Fletcher Cox, a clearly inebriated Hart declared his love for his city and dropped an F-bomb on live television.
“Philadelphia’s a great city,” Hart exclaimed. “I thought, I hope this is an example of what we can do. We gave a f–k … ooh.”
He then declared, “I’m out,” and dropped the mic before stumbling off.
This after Hart had apparently told a national audience just how drunk he was, according to the New York Post.
Hart, a Philadelphia native, also apparently wanted to be there for the moment when the Eagles received their Lombardi Trophy. He tried to get on the stage where team owner Jeffrey Lurie and head coach Doug Pederson were accepting the award along with tight end Zach Ertz and MVP quarterback Nick Foles.

The rowdy celebration
Hart is just one example of overly exubareant Philly fan reactions. This morning, the city is recovering from a night of looting and random fires set after the win.
Police in riot gear responded to the scene, where fires, and at least one overturned car, marked the season of chaos.
Slate reported that police received calls about fans scaling the awning attached to the Ritz Carlton, knocked over light poles, and even a Christmas tree that was set on fire.

According to the Huffington Post, Mayor Jim Kenney’s office released a statement on Monday about the rioting, stating, “Tens of thousands came out and celebrated this amazing victory last night, and but for a handful of bad actors the celebration was peaceful and jubilant. We’re thankful for our PPD for their assistance in getting the crowds dispersed and people home safely.”
Turn Down For What?
After Hart’s drunken flub, he kept the party going in an Instagram video explaining what happened. While he didn’t full offer an apology, he seemed to be aware that his excitement may have gone tad too far.
“To all the kids out there… I just want to say, don’t drink. When alcohol’s in your system, you do dumb stuff. Me trying to go onstage with the trophy is definitely in the top two stupidest things I’ve ever done. But who cares? The Eagles won the Super Bowl,” he said in the Instagram video.
“Yeah, I’m still a little tipsy, but the world can kiss my ass…My wife was the first one to say don’t go up there. I got to be up there with my city…but it didn’t work out too good. The man did his job, didn’t he? He said, ‘Kevin Hart, I know who you are, but you can’t be up here.’ Who gives a shit? Fly, Eagles, fly. Fu*k it.”
