We may not be able to get Barack and Michelle Obama back into the White House, but our forever first couple may be hitting our screens very soon.
The former president and first lady are reportedly in advanced negotiations with Netflix about producing exclusive content for the streaming service.
According to The New York Times, sources say the streaming network is working to get the Obamas to “produce a series of high-profile shows that will provide him a global platform after his departure from the White House.”

While it probably wouldn’t be part of the plan for Barack and Michelle Obama to respond directly to Donald Trump and his tweets, or the army of conservative critics who shade their time in the White House on the daily, the deal would give him direct line to the public and that sounds pretty good to us.
So far, details on the Netflix deal are scarce, but sources say Barack and Michelle Obama are interested in creating content that highlights inspirational stories. Other ideas that have reportedly been kicked around include a show in which Barack Obama moderates discussions about pressing topics like health care and climate change.

We’re guessing these Netflix series from Barack and Michelle Obama would be pretty successful considering Barack Obama has more than 101 million Twitter followers and continues to be a beloved, trusted, respected voice in an increasingly scary time.
We’d also be super down for a Michelle Obama-hosted series that helps other women be as fabulous and she is. Yes, please!
