Sen. Kamala Harris inks book deal prompting further talks about a 2020 campaign

Sen. Kamala Harris has inked a book deal igniting further speculation about whether or not she will run for the 2020 Presidential office.

Sen. Kamala Harris emerged on the political scene with a fiery unapologetic edge that has made her a favorite of the Democratic Party. Now, the former California Attorney General has inked a book deal igniting further speculation about whether or not she will run for the 2020 Presidential seat, the LA Times reports.

Published by Penguin Press, the book “The Truths We Hold: An American Journey,” is set to be released January 9, 2019, and will give insight into Harris’ political rise and the pitfalls the California Democrat has had to overcome.

“Through the arc of her own life, on into the great work of our day, she communicates a vision of shared struggle, shared purpose, and shared values,” Penguin said.

“In a book rich in many home truths, not least is that a relatively small number of people work very hard to convince a great many of us that we have less in common than we actually do, but it falls to us to look past them and get on with the good work of living our common truth. When we do, our shared effort will continue to sustain us and this great nation, now and in the years to come.”

This will be Sen. Kamala Harris’ second book. In 2009, she published “Smart on Crime.” She was elected California attorney general in 2010 and won her Senate seat in 2016.

The second book is said to be about “the core truths that unite us, and the long struggle to discern what those truths are and how best to act upon them, in her own life and across the life of our country,” according to Penguin.
