In her new book, April Ryan fires back at a White House reporter who claimed that her skin color was the only reason she gets called on at press briefings. That part and many other juicy tidbits about infighting and being an outspoken White House reporter during Trump’s reign is what Ryan writes about in her upcoming book “Under Fire: Reporting from the Front Lines of the Trump White House.”

The veteran American Urban Radio Networks, recalled a time when Francesca Chambers, a White House reporter for the Daily Mail, told her that being black is what gets her called – alluding to the fact that her talent had nothing to do with it, reports the Washington Examiner.

“A conservative Black female reporter had openly, in my presence, spoke the wrong words, saying, ‘The only reason you get called on is because you’re black,'” said Ryan.

Ryan confirmed to the Washington Examiner it was Chambers.

“To this day, those words don’t sit well with me,” Ryan writes. “At that time, I had had enough! ‘Yes!’ I said to her. ‘You ain’t shit!’ In front of everyone, asking her, ‘Who you think you are? You’re Black too, in case you didn’t know it!’”

That kind of fire and fury has made Ryan a notable name in the White House and she’s had quite a few fiery exchanges first with White House press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders.

But Chambers’ comments seemed to hit Ryan the hardest.

A spokesperson for Chambers released a statement to the Daily Mail to refute Ryan’s claims.

“It is a sad day for journalism when a reporter makes false claims against another reporter to sell a book,” the statement said. “Ms. Ryan knows what she has written to be false and she is also fully aware of the unacceptable way that she has treated Ms. Chambers in the White House for the past two years.”

Ryan quickly took to Twitter to demand an apology and threaten legal action.

She wrote: There were too many witnesses @dailymail @mailonline for you to say @fran_chambers did not do it. The reporter asked around and was told and I verified. It is true. Do your own investigation. I wait for a public apology from you! If not I may have to take legal action!
