Tiffany Haddish reveals she was raped at age 17 by police cadet ‘That experience put me in such a messed-up place for a long time’

Tiffany Haddish typically has fans laughing at her antics and interview but in a new conversation with Glamour magazine, the Girls Trip breakout star opens up about the harrowing details of a sexual assault.

In a candid new cover interview with Glamour, Haddish dishes about building her Hollywood empire, those wild who-bit-Beyoncé theories and being raped at 17 by a police cadet.

“That whole experience put me in such a messed-up place for a long time and I ended up going to counseling,” Haddish told Glamour.

She also noted that she still struggles with whether to reveal the name of her attacker and seek justice. 

“Me just yelling out people’s names with no thought behind it is pointless. I need a plan,” she continued. “I could be a voice, but what’s a voice going to do—just keep talking? Or is there action behind it?”

Haddish she did not name the cadet, nor did she say where the incident took place, but she did tell the publication that at the time, she reported the incident to authorities, the New York Daily News reports. 

Tiffany Haddish has overcome other challenges in her life as well. 

In her 2017 memoir, “The Last Black Unicorn,” the comedian revealed that she was raised by a mentally ill, abusive mother and was twice-married to an abusive man. has denied the allegations.

Tiffany Haddish also shared with Glamour that she’s had to adjust her attitude when interacting with men but isn’t afraid to protect herself.

“I notice that men are afraid of women that are aggressive. So to protect myself I become semi-aggressive,” she said. “You hear about, ‘Tiffany always hitting on somebody,’ but that’s to keep them from hitting on me.”

And she’s not afraid to call Hollywood predators out as well.

“I’ve had experiences where directors or producers are like [suggestively], ‘You want this job?'” she added. “I might get real bossy and say, ‘First off, don’t nobody want to see your little d—!’ I get loud, all that.”
