Last November, Nicki Minaj‘s brother, Jelani Maraj, was convicted of predatory sexual assault against a child and endangering the welfare of a child.
“We hope that today’s verdict will help the family in the healing process,” Nassau County D.A. Madeline Singas told TMZ.
Maraj was accused of raping his then 11-year-old stepdaughter while she was living in the same house as him. In harrowing testimony, her younger brother testified that he had seen Maraj assaulting his sister when he was just 8 years old, and the girl herself testified that Maraj had threatened to take her and her brother away from their mother.
Although Maraj’s legal team had suggested that Nicki Minaj would testify to support her brother, she never testified at the trial.
Now, his mother, Carol Maraj is planning to participate in a tell-all interview about her son’s case.
She shared the news on social media and her daughter’s fans are less than pleased with her plan.
“Watch the Hip-Hop ‘Hood Report with Charles Fisher & the “Fitness Sheriff” as I share the SHOCKING NEWS the COURT DON’T WANT YOU TO KNOW in a TELL ALL INTERVIEW about my son’s TRIAL on (8/8-11pm)(8/11-3pm) Channel 20 Optimum, Channel 37 Verizon,” she posted.

Nicki Minaj pushes back ‘Queen’ album…again
