About 150 students at Clark Atlanta University are outraged after arriving on campus to find out they don’t have dorm rooms.

Students took to social media to claim administrators at the storied HBCU told them there were no rooms available, even though many said they paid their fees in full.

Ericka Eddins told WSBTV that her daughter’s dorm room was paid in advance last year, yet she was told she didn’t have a room one day before classes are set to start on Wednesday.

“I’m very upset. This is ridiculous,” parent Ericka Eddins. “I dropped her off at 7:00 this morning at the school to take care of this.”

“No resolution. Nobody’s telling us anything. I don’t know what to do,” she said.

A Clark Atlanta University statement emailed WSBTV on Monday night placing the blame on many of the students who they allege did not follow the rules and finish paperwork in time.

The statement goes on to say: “We have housing for all freshmen and sophomores who are financially enrolled.”

Eddins disputes that claim.

“They can pull it up and show you that they’re financially enrolled in the school, and they still don’t have housing,” she said.

CAU’S statement goes on to say:

“Those who have not completed the financial enrollment process are being offered temporary housing while they complete the process.” said the statement from Michael Marshall, Clark Atlanta’s associate vice president of enrollment services said in part.

However, may students say they are from out of state.

“They’re saying that there’s no housing available and that everyone will have to resort to off-campus housing, which is a problem,” Eddins said.

Some have even taken to social media to help out stranded students.
