Fans praise T.I. for being ‘honest’ and apologizing to wife Tiny Harris for cheating
Tip “T.I.” Harris and Tameka “Tiny” Harris make their VH1 reality series return later this month, and what better way to help promote the show than by dropping a new single about bouncing back from the reason that broke up their happy home.
Tip is receiving a lot of praise from fans for his new track, “The Amazing Mr. F— Up,” featuring singer, Victoria Monét. Some say he’s channeling JAY-Z ala “4:44,” as Harris expresses regret about being unfaithful to his wife. He also touches on that infamous video of him slapping the derrière of actress Asia’h Epperson.
“It’s amazing all the sh– I’ve done / Such examples I’ve been setting for my son / All she did was stay down and have my kid / All the time just to realize I ain’t sh– / Such audacity that I must have / To get in mid-company and slap on ass,” he raps.
In an interview with Apple Music’s Beats 1 Radio, the 38-year-old explained that while he’s “always kind of shied away from even speaking on those types of topics in my music,” he “felt like this is a time where the music is dope” so “I had to lay it out, I had to put my cards face up on the table.”
Fans quickly reacted to the soul-baring song after Tip posted it to his Instagram page, with many praising the father of seven for his “honesty.”
“This song relates to a lot of people. Me being one of them,” wrote one fan. “Big up to Tip.”
“I love him so much,” another wrote. “The honesty is impeccable, then the ‘ATL’ outro was perfect.”
Being the savvy businessman that he is, T.I. dropped the single weeks before the premiere of his new series, “T.I. & Tiny: Friends & Family Hustle,” airing October 22 on VH1.
Considering the 2.2 million viewers who tuned in to the finale of their previous series, “T.I. & Tiny: The Family Hustle,” “The Amazing Mr. F— Up” is sure to have fans checking in to see what’s poppin’ with their favorite hip-hop couple.
“The Amazing Mr. F— Up” is the first single off T.I.’s new album Dime Trap, out Friday, Oct. 5.
