And while he’s rocking the MAGA hat and stumping for Trump, Taylor Swift of all people has stepped up to throw her support behind two Democratic Senate contenders.
On Thursday, Jared Kushner’s Trump’s son-in-law is scheduled to meet with Ye first, according to two sources, the New York Times reports. After that, West will have lunch with Trump. And it will likely be a gossip fest against Swift who West so infamously interrupted on stage during her acceptance speech at the 2009 MTV VMAs and who Trump was quick to diss and said he likes her music 25% less after her Democratic support.
Kushner has pushed a bill for prison reform to discourage prisoners from repeating their crimes by offering training programs to help them develop marketable skills. West’s wife Kim Kardashian met with Kushner a few times advocating for Alice Johnson who was ultimately released from a life-time prison sentence for drug offenses by Trump.
While there’s no word on why West needs to meet with Trump again and so soon, Wendy Williams offered the philosophy that the two have made an “agreement” to clean up Kim’s image.
“There could be a theory you know when he met with Trump at Trump towers in the very beginning of Trump being Trump, they could of had an agreement,” Williams said recently on her TV show. “’Kanye, I need you to lead the charge for Black love, for me [Trump]’ and ‘In return, Mr. Trump, I need you help me clean up my wife’s image a little more,” Williams suggested.
“How does she just pop up at the White House?” she continued. “Maybe they made an agreement a long time ago and we just don’t know. Look, I don’t care. He does not appear to be all there. I know controversy sells, but this is a little controversial.”
Recently, Trump tweeted his approval for West’s Saturday Night Live performance, noting that “West, who put on a MAGA hat after the show (despite being told “no”), was great. He’s leading the charge!”
Kanye, now known as Ye, was booed during his off-air pro-Trump rant at the end of the show, following his performance of “Ghost Town.”
