Charlamagne calls Wendy Williams’ husband ‘a terrible human being’; implies abuse

'The Breakfast Club' host didn't bite his tongue on how he feels about his ex-mentor's husband in an interview. He believes she may be in more trouble than is apparent

Before he was a host on his hit show The Breakfast Club, co-host Charlamagne Tha God used to work for Wendy Williams during her radio days. And now, her former protegé is issuing a warning to his former boss that implies he believes the rumors of abuse by her husband are true.

According to Celebrity Insider, earlier this month while speaking to the New York Post, Charlamagne didn’t mince words when it came to Williams’ spouse Kevin Hunter, who has allegedly been living with his mistress for the better part of a decade and been accused of everything from physical abuse to verbally attacking her staff during her hiatus.

“I don’t f**k with Kevin,” Charlamagne admits bluntly. “I think he’s a terrible human being. I will just tell you that I hope Wendy Williams wakes up before one day she doesn’t wake up.”

It’s no secret that the host and author isn’t very fond of Hunter. In fact, when Charlamagne was fired from Williams’ radio show, it was reportedly Hunter who fired him due to a botched business deal.

Although the two men have no love lost, last year Charlamagne told People magazine he never understood why he and Williams fell out, considering she had nothing to do with the disagreement involving her husband.

“I haven’t talked to her in seven years. I haven’t talked to her since February of 2010, that’s the last time I had a conversation with her,” he told the publication at the time. “I had a conversation with her husband [Kevin Hunter], but it wasn’t nothing productive — just a bunch of yelling and screaming.”

“He was always extremely aggressive in trying to get more money out of situations,” Charlamagne wrote in his book Black Privilege. “He’d yell at and often threaten people till he got what he wanted … I can’t lie: It’s worked for him and Wendy. But it wasn’t how I wanted to do business.”

While Williams has not directly addressed the accusations that Hunter is abusive to both her and her staff, according to Radar Online, on Friday, the troubled talk show host took to Instagram with an announcement about The Wendy Williams Show that raised even more questions about her marriage.

The statement released by Debmar-Mercury confirmed that Wendy Williams would be returning to her show on March 4th, stating: “Wendy Williams is an incredible talent with the most unique voice in daytime. We can’t wait to welcome her back to her iconic purple chair on the set of her show on Monday, March 4th.”

Die-hard fans know Williams usually makes it a point to include both her maiden name and married name in her correspondences. However, this time she opted to exclude “Hunter” from her name.
