Ty Dolla $ign has been given a second chance. Reports say that the R&B crooner may avoid jail time after being arrested for drug possession in Georgia this past September.
According to TMZ, prosecutors have decided on offering the artist a deal provided he enrolls in an online drug prevention program known as the Second Chance program. Ty must avoid marijuana, Rx drugs and work on his sobriety.

Ty Dolla $ign, because of his alleged drug abuse, was at risk of potentially facing two felonies and a misdemeanor if he was found guilty.
Revolt states that the 33-year-old was charged with possession of cocaine, possession of marijuana (less than one ounce), and obstruction of a law enforcement officer during a routine traffic stop in Atlanta. He was on his way to a scheduled performance in the city before his car was pulled over. The songwriter was set to perform alongside other entertainers such as G-Eazy, Lil Uzi Vert and YBN Nahmir.

Law enforcement officials claimed to have smelled weed coming from the entertainer’s car and decided to search it. During the search, they found weed and cocaine in the vehicle. Ty Dolla $ign was the only person arrested, even though there were five other people in the car. The others were let go.
Ty Dolla $ign’s attorney, Drew Findling, argued against the arrest since no drugs were found on him.

Findling told Atlanta news station, WSB-TV Channel 2 Action News that, “He had no drugs on his person at all. Apparently, there was a small amount of some drug in the car and they let five people walk away and the international superstar go into custody.”
The program the multi-talented artist is required to enroll in lasts around 13 weeks. He will also be routinely tested for drugs.
Fortunately, the time Ty Dolla $ign is scheduled to take the program will not affect his upcoming tour dates.
The musician recently released a studio album called MihTy with artist, Jeremih in October of last year.
