Meghan Markle is the latest mom with plans to take the “fluid approach to gender” when raising her baby with hubby Prince Harry, according to Vanity Fair.
The 37-year-old Duchess of Sussex reportedly shared this parenting perspective with her closet friends at her royal baby shower in NYC last week.
“Meghan has been talking to some of her friends about the birth and how she and Harry plan to raise their baby. Her exact word was ‘fluid,’” a source told the magazine.
“She said they plan to raise their child with a fluid approach to gender and they won’t be imposing any stereotypes.”

The couple, who are expecting their first child, are also reportedly decorating the baby’s nursery in gender-neutral colors, a source said.
Markle and Prince Harry’s royal baby is due in April.
Markle accumulated lots of baby shower gifts that she planned to open at home with Harry after a star-studded shower hosted by a few of her close friends. The intimate group reportedly consisted of Markle and 15 of her closest friends.
The retired actress turned royal celebrated with a lavish baby shower at the Upper East Side hotel The Mark, according to the magazine.
A dad joke gone wrong?
The royal couple is surely excited about their baby-to-be but a joke by soon-to-be daddy Prince Harry didn’t sit well with some people.

While visiting a school in the town of Asni, Markle visibly pregnant with their first child was congratulated by one of the hosts about her forthcoming bundle of joy, PEOPLE reports.
The dad-to-be responded by cracking a joke, “What, you’re pregnant?”
Meghan played along and quipped “Surprise!”
Then Harry responded, “Is it mine?”
While it’s apparent that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex were engaging in a playful exchange, it’s problematic for a Black woman to have the assertion that her baby daddy may not be the daddy in a world that already thinks Black women are loose.
Well, after all the commentary about that comment we’re sure they will hold back a bit from cracking any crass jokes, in public, in the future.
