Donna Brazile, the former chairwoman of the Democratic National Committee, and Fox News appear to be strange bedfellows, but that’s not stopping her from joining the conservative-leaning news channel as a contributor.

In a post on the Fox News website, Brazile, 59, announced that she is looking forward to sharing her views with the Fox News audience.

“I am excited by the opportunity to share my perspective and views with the Fox News audience and to help shape the dialogue at this important juncture in our history,” Brazile wrote. “Will I agree with my fellow commentators at Fox News? Probably not. But I will listen. Will I question some of their assertions about hard-working Americans, low-income people and issues like climate change? Absolutely. But I will do so with civility and respect.”

The move seems a far cry away from Brazile’s Democratic leanings. During the 2016 presidential elections, Brazile served as the interim chairwoman of the DNC. She is also a former CNN contributor, but was ousted by the network after WikiLeaks divulged emails showing Brazile tipping then-presidential candidate Hillary Clinton off to topics in a CNN town hall meeting during the campaign. Brazile calls the email controversy “a mistake I will forever regret.”

As a commentator on CNN, Brazile would routinely slam Fox News reporters for their interpretation, or outright dismissal, of the news.

Fox News, on the other hand, has also widely criticized Brazile in the past. In covering her controversy over at CNN, Eric Boiling, former co-host of “The Five” show, said it was “shameful and treasonous to our political system and stability,” according to the New York Daily News.

As a Fox News contributor, Brazile will be called upon to deliver her take on pressing issues.

She will not be participating in debate or town hall coverage, reported the Daily News.

Brazile’s debut appearance on Fox News took place Monday afternoon on “The Daily Briefing with Dana Perino.”

In Brazile’s column on the Fox News website, she said the new role will help improve how she interacts and listens to people who share different views.

“I fully admit that in my previous lives as a campaign staffer, presidential campaign manager and Democrat Party official, my own lack of civility in the heat of battle has been on full display. And it wasn’t pretty,” she wrote. “My mother tried to teach us Brazile kids a lesson we all need to heed as citizens: Listen more, talk less. Be civil to one another. Find common ground. Contempt is hatred towards others. These are the lessons and the attitude I will bring to Fox News.”
