Bookmarks: Celebrating Black Voices is a live-action collection of 12 five-minute episodes featuring prominent Black celebrities and artists reading children’s books from Black authors that highlight the Black experience.

Hosted by Marley Dias, the 15-year-old author and founder of #1000BlackGirlBooks campaign, the collection of books and conversations center around themes of identity, respect, justice, and action — providing families a toolset to start meaningful conversations with kids about difficult topics through short-form book-based content.

We can’t wait for the world to get to know this talented teen and the idea of little Black kids all over the country seeing themselves represented in this way is quite a milestone.

Netflix has not confirmed an official release date for Bookmarks: Celebrating Black Voices but with so many families struggling with the back to school chaos, it will certainly be a welcome addition to the queue.

That’s not the only offering for families Netflix has up its sleeves. The streamer recently released a star-studded animated film entitled Fearless.
