Dressed in an adorable black and white ensemble and equipped with a Wilson racket identical to her mom’s, Alexis Olympia Ohanian Jr, the three-year-old daughter of tennis star Serena Williams was given her first tennis lesson over the weekend.

Williams documented the momentous occasion via her Instagram Story on Thursday. The series of clips started with the iconic athlete revealing to her Instagram followers that she’d signed her daughter up for tennis lessons.

“Don’t even start with me because I’m not giving her lessons.”

The unsuspecting tennis coach had no idea she’d be teaching the daughter of a 23-time Grand Slam singles champion.

“The lady has no idea that it’s my daughter. So we’ll see how it goes,” Williams continued. “I’m not a pushy mom, but I know how I like technique. So, I want to make sure she’s good at teaching Olympia some techniques.”

When the day of the lesson arrived, Williams tried to get her little girl ready by sitting her down to study footage of one of her own tennis matches. Olympia, however, was more interested in watching the cartoon, Little Angel.

Once the lesson started, Williams made sure not to stick around the court. “So, she’s at her lesson, but I’m going to leave so I’m not distracting. I know how to, like, leave and be. I’m not, like, an overprotective mom — no matter what Alexis [Ohanian] says,” she joked, referencing her husband.

Williams didn’t post any updates on how Olympia’s lesson went, and hopefully her Instagram followers will get the tea soon.

Earlier this summer, Olympia showed signs of her love of the sport and her potential on the tennis court when she and her mother practiced in matching purple outfits.

Throughout the child’s young life, followers have seen her cheering her mom on from the stands, demonstrating that she’s her number 1 fan.
