The competitive culture inside one of Chicago’s most prestigious ballet academies is sure to give some Black Swan vibes, and the talented cast is intriguing to say the least.
Led by real-life ballerina Kylie Jefferson, who stars as Neveah, the ensemble cast includes Lauren Holly, Casimere Jollette, Daniela Norman, Brennan Clost Michael Hsu Rosen, Damon J. Gillespie, Bayardo De Murguia Barton Cowperthwaite, Tory Trowbridge, Jess Salgueiro and Anna Maiche.
Here’s the official synopsis:
“When tragedy strikes at Chicago’s most prestigious ballet school, where every dancer is both friend and foe who compete fiercely for coveted roles, it threatens to unravel close friendships and to expose a constellation of secrets that could bring down a world-renowned institution. When an attack brings down the star student at an elite ballet school, her replacement enters a world of lies, betrayal – and cutthroat competition.”
Murder mystery? Beautiful Black girls killing the ballet game? Teen angst coupled with crazy competition? Sounds like all the ingredient we require for a fun holiday binge session.
