Kamala Harris has been dubbed ‘the female Barack Obama’, and she has already made history by becoming the first female, black, and Indian American elected to be California’s Attorney General. “I pride myself…living in a state that has always been known to be the source of change,” said the recently elected Attorney General.

The hotly contested position was finally won after a contentious month of ballot-counting. Harris won by less than one percentage point and her win completes a Democratic sweep of the eight state-wide offices in California.
