Huckabee has to back off 'birther'-like remarks

The former governor of Arkansas, Mike Huckabee, is in some hot water after suggesting that the president grew up in Kenya and that it shaped his view of the world. Despite Huckabee’s comments, Obama’s first visit to Kenya did not occur until he was in his 20’s.

“One thing that I do know is his having grown up in Kenya, his view of the Brits, for example, (is) very different than the average American,” said Huckabee on the New York radio station WOR on Monday.

Huckabee has since said that he meant to reference Obama’s childhood in Indonesia. The president lived there from ages 5 to 10. Huckabee has in the past dismissed the allegations made by the so called “birthers”, who believe Obama was actually born in Kenya.
