Willow Smith will join more than 50 other celebrities and athletes at the White House for this year’s Easter Egg Roll on April 25.
Smith will perform with Colbie Caillat, Greyson Chance, Mindless Behavior, John Lithgow, Sesame Street, and Little Beats and DJ WillyWow on the “Rockin’ Egg Roll Stage” during the event, the White House said today.
“Get Up and Go!” is the theme of this year’s celebration. More than 200,000 people applied online in the lottery system for the 30,000 available tickets. Another 4,000 tickets went to military families, and around 3,000 were distributed around Virginia, Maryland and DC. At least one family from each of the 50 states was successful in gaining tickets through the public lottery.
Along with the traditional egg roll, now in its 133rd year, there will also be a Storytime Stage where Kelly Ripa and family, John Lithgow, Elmo, Maria and Gordon of “Sesame Street,” John Bemelmans Marciano, Kristi Yamaguchi and Geena Davis will be reading.
Nearly 15,000 boiled eggs will be used between the egg roll and egg hunt, and children under 12 will be given one of the 83,000 wooden souvenir eggs stamped with the signature of the President and First Lady. The other eggs are available for purchase.
