'My Kid Would Never Do That': Dateline special takes on kids and racial stereotypes

For the past few weeks, we’ve been exploring different topics on our hidden camera series “My Kid Would Never Do That.” From stranger safety to drinking and driving, we’ve partnered with concerned parents to see how their kids would react when placed in difficult situations.

As a parent and a journalist, I think this week’s episode is also about a very important topic. Our generation of American kids is the most diverse in history, but do they know what to do when faced with racial and ethnic discrimination? I’ve had these kinds of conversations with my children, and there are so many lessons for parents and kids in this week’s show.

Here’s a sneak peek. Tune in to watch the full episode this Sunday, May 6th at 7pm/6c on Dateline NBC.
