Conservative musician and Mitt Romney supporter Ted Nugent has made yet another incendiary remark about President Barack Obama. In an interview with the New Times Broward-Palm Beach, Nugent said that on important issues, “Obama represents everything bad about humanity and Romney pretty much all that is good. It is really that stark.”
Nugent has a long history of making controversial comments about the president.
At a 2008 concert, with machine gun in hand, Nugent called the president a punk, and yelled to the crowd, “Hey Obama you might want to suck on one of these, you punk.”
In April, Nugent’s comments at a National Rifle Association convention in St. Louis drew the attention of the Secret Service when he told the audience that if President Obama was re-elected he would be “dead or in jail by this time next year.”
His comments were so inflammatory that the Secret Service investigated him and held a meeting with the musician in Washington, DC. During the same interview at the NRA convention in Missouri Nugent described the current administration as “vile,” “evil,” and “America-hating.” He urged members of the audience to “ride into the battlefield and chop their heads off in November.”
Outraged over the Supreme Court’s ruling on the health care reform law, Nugent blasted Justice John Roberts and the Supreme Court for upholding the law. In a Washington Times column, Nugent called John Roberts’ finding a “traitor vote,” proclaiming that the U.S. would have been better off if “the South won the Civil War.”
